Agreed, whilst first impressions aren't great with the ropy visuals, clunky controls, and at times, hammy voice acting. The bizarrely brilliant narrative more than makes up for it, in part because it is very similar to Twin Peaks

You know, I've never actually seen Twin Peaks, but with all this talk about it... I suppose I will have to. I see there is a series and a movie, which one is it recommended I watch?

The series, definitely. The movie was nowhere near as good as the series.
