I'm sitting here in the er and that ** doctor tried to give me a klonopin scrip for 6 ** pills!!!!! I told him I would not have my meds for 2 weeks. 6 pills!!

It's an emergency room. It may be their policy that he is not allowed to prescribe any more. Normally that would be sufficient for the patient to get with their regular doctor.

I worked in a hospital before. ER docs are not allowed to perscribe medicine like a primary care doc would. You would need to call your regular doc and ask if he can write a script and let you pick it up if you can't get in for another two weeks

They gave me a shot of Ativan that took only the edge off my anxiety and than pretty much kicked me out of the hospital. I understand they have guidelines to follow but there needs to be another option for a person in my situation. So I went home and took 6 Benadryl.
