I want to seek professional help for my anxiety but even the thought of the awkward phone conversation scares me. Does anyone have any tips on what to say? who am i even ringing? the local GP? a random therapist from the phone book ? gah i dont know. I am also curious as to how much the process generally costs as i am not working very often anymore. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ring your GP and say you'd like to book an appointment, state your name and the name of the Doctor you'd like to see (if you have one), if not, they'll place you with the one availble first.

Then, at the appointment, tell them the problem.

And I don't know about Australia, but in the UK it's all completely free.
