Yellow monkey here.

I've never spoken about my problem before and I haven't been clinically diagnosed but I guess I suffer from Social Anxiety.

I've always been "the quiet one" and tended to form only one or two very close friends, but over the years it's become a lot worse - I feel petrified about speaking out and meeting new people or making friends (Recently, a childhood friend, whom I hadn't seen for over six years visited us, but I was so terrified about the whole situation that I couldn't bring myself to come out of my room).

High school was all about marks and passing matric but I'm a first year medical student now and I can't carry on like this (just had the most terrifying and embarrassing experience today (yesterday?)).

Hope to gain some mch-needed advice.
