Hi everyone, I am new here and wanted to say hello. I have Social Anxiety, had it pretty much all my life although it is only in recent years that I have actually been able to give it a name. I feel pathetic about it most of the time and feel like there is no real way to "fix" this, it's just the way I am... :|

I have done a one on one cognitive behavioral therapy at the beginning of this year for a study on social anxiety. I guess I was in denial thinking I only has a mild form but according to their chart/questionnaires, they categorized it as severe! :eek: And although the therapy did help a little bit during, it had no lasting effect.

I never took anti-depressants for it and would like to avoid it if possible (worried about all the unwanted side effects). I am seeing an actual psychiatrist for this for the first time tomorrow morning and of course, I'm super anxious about it!

So anyway, just wanted to say hello!

P.S. = Just wanted to add that I'm 34.
