I have .

It was a lesbian couple , essentially . We ended up moving on . I think it's more my fault pushing them away .. but anyway ..

We had a lot in common .. but ironically .. these 'similarities' actually made us the complete opposite of each other . I'll explain why :

Apparent similarities :
- We were all LGBT , and all three of us were attracted to girls .
- We were all nerds .
- We were all vegetarian .
- We all suffered from depression .
- We all complained about our problems on Facebook .
- We all lived in flatting situations .
- We were all immature .
- We all grew our own vegetables .

Here's why these 'similarities' made us the complete opposite of each other :
- We were all LGBT .. but only I was single .
- We were all nerds .. but only I have failed school .. and read no more than 10 books in my whole life (concentration problems) .
- We were all vegetarian .. but all I can afford to eat is chips and noodles .
- We all suffered from depression and thought about suicide .. except I lost all of my friends as a result . They seemed to have gained friends instead . :no
- We all complained about our problems on Facebook .. but I never got any Likes for doing so .
- We all lived in flatting situations .. but their flatmates get along sooo well . They have chickens , share one garden .. are so friendly to each other .. have a beautiful house with squeaky clean and modern furniture . My flatmates all do drugs , get in fights with each other .. use gardening as a means of displaying Dominance and Narcissism (that idiot) .. and bribe each other with weed . The house is a ****ing pig stall .. and someone who lives there has such a big butt .. that it dislodges the toilet seat every 1-2 weeks .
- We were all immature .. except they can get jobs after a single interview .. and get As in all their college exams . I can't

I like to think the guy I wanted to beat so badly in high school was that person.

He was like me without the issues, I think. Same academic success, same activities, etc. Only he was, as I said, without issue so normal life plus always being one step ahead of me. Always a little better.

It makes you lose hope when you see someone who's just flat out better than you in every way and no matter how hard you work you're bound to lose. And you don't have any social structure to pick you up.

I have a friend who is a complete player, and has a very active social life. He is a good friend, and understands that I'm shy, and still likes me for it, but I sometimes feel jealous of how easy his life is.

I had the same kind of relationship with someone i was in highschool with. We both played football and wrestled and ended up in a lot of the same classes so we were always basically in direct competition with each other, but he was again without all the mental health issues and he was always a little better than me in everything.... He's on death row for the double murder of a pregnant women and her unborn son during a house burglary though, so in a morbid way i guess the tables got turned....:blank

We have similar interest in movies and TV shows. But when people throw insults it's always at me.
Both of us have introvert qualities. But he is able to fit in. He never seems socially anxious or sensitive.
We try to have positive outlooks. His is actually justified by his burgeoning career as a teacher where my status as no life loser only intensifies.
Our views on the opposite sex seem similar. He is likely to end up with a woman where I will turn into a grand wizard.
We've talked for a few years. But he's not the one worrying how the friendship is going. He may not even think of me as a friend.

He's like the society approved, functioning version of me.

Yeah tonns of people. The kind of people that have amazing social lifes, always in relationships and don't find socialising a chore or hassle at all. It baffles and wonders me.

Yeah , well .. I didn't just mean someone who's Better than you . More like .. somebody who is your exact mirror image , polar opposite .

How is one able to determine "mirror image"?

In terms of views, personality, or demeanor towards life?
Pretty much .

There's a lot of people I can think of who are better than me at life .. but only a very few , I could consider a polar opposite of mine .

Ironically .. a lot of these polar opposites appear to have a lot in common with you , at first sight .

e.g. Let's just say that you're Rich , but lonely and secluded . Your polar opposite will be poor .. but sociable .

The girls I described above were well off , sociable .. and academic .. despite us both being unusual , and members of the LGBT community .. and living-inbetween-genders . I'm broke , socially isolated .. and sucked at school .

Hence , why it's called Polar opposite . Both the north pole and south pole of Earth are cold places .. they have it in common .. yet they're still far away from each other , on opposite ends .

I feel like most people I meet are very different from me, but my best friend is the complete opposite of me. My half brother is also the opposite of me.
