I am pretty confused and frustrated with my life, but the one thing I've figured out is that I'm pretty happy when I'm in a romantic relationship, and pretty unhappy when I'm not. Although day-to-day events may make me happier or sadder briefly, this is the general rule. Is anyone else like this?
When I'm single, I feel utterly alone in the world, and have no motivation to do anything. I don't really have any friends. I spend all my time trying to distract myself from my mood (wasting it), and trying to get into a relationship.
When I'm in a relationship with someone I trust, I am generally happy and productive and confident. It's really great. On the other hand, I don't really have any social life other than dating, so I do nothing social at all when I'm in a relationship.
...which causes the girl to feel smothered because she is my entire social life, which causes me to become single again. Rinse and repeat.
I think my relationships would probably be a lot healthier if I had other platonic friends.
