When I'm around people that make me nervous, I put on "The Voice." It's over enunciated, sonorous, very monotone, and a little bored. It's a voice that says "I'm better than you, and you don't impress me," and I rarely smile when I use it.
It's a safety behaviour I need to kick - I need to smile more and use my normal voice. This is my goal!

A v0ice that when I use it it is because I have s0mething that I need t0 say. I d0n't want t0 ad0pt a "hey l00k at me" v0ice m0re 0f a self assured pers0n. Good luck jane. I used to act annoying to drive away people who were friendly to me. It was also kind of a safety thing. I always regreted it afterwards
