Whenever I do something stupid in a social situation I'll block out the negative thoughts after the situation with thoughts of grandeur, like me being a movie star or a millionaire and of course without social anxiety. What I think is that that has given me expectations that aren't real and are making my social anxiety worse. Anyone else do this?

I don't, but that sounds like you're putting a tremendous amount of pressure on yourself. Like the only way to redeem yourself after screwing up is to become a big-shot celebrity (which is totally false btw). Try to just accept that it happened and move on. The past is the past, control what you can control, the future. Learn from your mistakes and move forward. Good luck :)

I think it'd be better to imagine what a more desired response would've been in that situation. This way you can learn over time what to say.
