Just joined. Could this be the connection I have been missing?

My wife is about to leave me because of my social anxiety. I can't blame her. This is not what she signed up for and she deserves more. She has a huge, outgoing, loud family. They are good people. Not who I would hang out with, but they mean well. Every holiday is torture. I think it will be different, but I leave humiliated and embarrassed by my shyness. At home we don't have couple friends because I'm not able to make friends. Would she be happier with a normal guy? I am so freaking lonely.

Regarding the not signed up for comment: did you have the same social difficulties when you got married?

Have you sought a professional opinion about the matter? If you have a diagnosis that can be explained to your wife, it may help her to understand the issues and might give the marriage a better chance.

Well you know your wife better than any of us do.

But if I had to say anything, I'd say you're the victim here, not her.

good advice from odd one out.

seek help, get counselling, show your wife you are serious about her and the marriage (if that's what you want). Seek help even if it doesn't work out, seek help for yourself.
