I meditate daily. Not super long sessions, just 15-30 minutes. I use a variety of techniques such as guided visualization, brain entrainment music, deep breathing, etc. If you have iTunes, there are some really great meditation podcasts (I like "Relaxation Music for Sleep", "Meditation Station", and "Relaxation by Inner Health Studios") -- and they are all free of course. It definitely helps with stress and anxiety, but no so much social anxiety. I guess if you get proficient enough that you can be in your "happy place" in any setting, it would help a lot, but I'm not there yet. It's definitely worth a try.
