Unfortunately I shop way to often. I have a closet full of clothes. 80 linear feet of paperback books(standing up not lying down). 12 linear feet of DVDs. 7 musical instruments ( I can sort of play the Sax.) Thats just for starters. I may not have the Interior Designer gene but I sure got the Shopping one.

I'm only comfortable shopping when I'm with someone I feel comfortable with. THe odd time I will go to a store alone, but only if I've been there before and know exactly what I'm buying, so I can get in and out fast. Once I'm there, I shop around a bit if I feel comfortable enough in the place.

Some people view shopping as a hobby -- I'm not one of those people. I only shop when I need to get something and then my objective is to get it as cheaply as possible.

I own only two pairs of shoes -- both bought back in 2001. The last time I bought a pair of jeans was 15 months ago. I haven't bought a shirt since 1997. I wear a belt that's ten years old and my winter jacket is over ten years old. The only clothing I've bought this year would be a pack of socks and only because I had a $10 coupon for Kohl's that I felt compelled to use. As you can see, I don't like shopping or spending money.

My mother doesn't drive, so I take her grocery shopping. Most people just go to one store and they're done. My family is into going to various stores to buy their loss leader sale items, so we end up going to a whole bunch of stores -- being a cheapskate takes effort.

I like browsing in music- book- and gamestores and the like. I don't like shopping for clothes though. Employees in clothes stores seem to make a sport of bugging you every two minutes.
