When I'm at home, I do mainly two things: play the guitar or sit at my computer. Sometimes I can combine those two for extra awesomeness with the help of pdf scores. But yeah, I'd say I spend way too much time on the Internet, around 90% of my free time I think. And most of the things I do on the net are astonishingly useless, like watching random videos on YouTube or reading about stuff I'm not even all that interested in. If I only used the net for exchanging email, gathering information I actually need, watching meaningful videos and things like that, my usage would drop dramatically. I can't say I'm addicted to it though. I can go without using a computer and actually feel better for it. It's just a bad habit, and it persists because it creates the illusion of doing something semi-worthwhile without requiring any real effort or thought.

Yeah I'm addicted, I remember once when my computer crashed on me and wouldn't work. I actually cried! I was about 20 or 21 at the time, not a good look crying over a computer. But when I get up BAM on the net checking my accounts. First things I do when i get home from where ever, BAM online checking accounts. The only time I'm not online a lot is when my girlfriend is over, I find it rude to be online for a long period of time whilst in someones company. I'd Probably break down and cry again if this pc died on me.

Oh I'm addicted to the internet too, but even here it's difficult to talk to people, especially complete strangers. Sure, I don't have to worry about my voice not being loud enough, or stuttering - it happens sometimes - but what the heck do I say? What if I don't word it right? What if... what if...? I worry too much. :|

I spend way too much time on the internet, but lately I have gotten bored, ran out of sites to read and stuff, haha....
But what else could I do? I don't know what to do so I get online. I have a short attention span as well so StumbleUpon is very nice, hehe.

I don't think it's any different with me than it ever was. When I was growing up, it was TV because I didn't have anything else. I just sat and watched TV all the time. Now it's the internet. Comparing the two, I think the internet is superior. TV was passive and I didn't necessarily learn anything. I can learn all day long as long online as I can absorb it.

Just wondering if any of you have become addicted to your computers because of SA?

I am addicted and I don't think I will ever change my habits. The internet provides me with everything I seem to want. I can play games online with people and chat with them and in some cases build relationships with these people (E-friends makes me laugh inside a little). I really enjoy the ability to talk to someone and not worry about all the things I usually do like my appearance, their facial expressions. Mostly I don't feel as though I'm being judged and ultimately it helps me feel like a normal person which is a great feeling.

Can anyone else relate?
Yes. I hate my computer, yet here I am, again.

I'm online at work all day. Then I come home and sit here for 2=5 hours. Luckily I do workout and play sports otherwise I would be on here 24/7 . Computers have not helped with doing social activities I think the internet is aiding in my SA.

Hopelessly addicted here. My computer is pretty much my sole source of entertainment these days. I use it to listen to music, read ebooks and the news, watch TV shows and movies, play games, "socialize" on myspace or facebook and chat with family. Worst part is I know I spend way too much time on it, and need to be socializing with actual living, breathing people. It's definitely a daily struggle for me, trying to achieve some kind of balance.

I think most or a big portion of people in general are addicted to the internet. It's just a sign of the times. People go on the net to shop, socialize, date, handle finances, read the news, watch tv/movies, check the weather, education...not to mention it has revolutionized the way businesses operate. Kids back in the day would go swimming or fly a kite, now its online gaming and myspace. Nonetheless, im trying myself to cut down on my internet usage. Sometimes I'll just mindlessly click around for hours. If i have to be on the net, I feel its better if im doing something productive.

I love my lappie, wouldn't know what to do if i didn't have it. I am addicted to the computer, and because i don't have a job or social life, I go on the computer loads of times a day.
I have my online friends on there and I can keep up with family on facebook etc. And I can talk on MSN and be like myself

It's scary just thinking about the hours put into this box, if I'm at home on weekends or whatever it would be an easy 8-10hrs online. After work:
