I got Carpal Tunnel in both wrists after working in an archive for twelve hours a day for a month in October 2007. I don't think it's a severe case, but it still bothers me sometimes. I had (and sometimes still have) shooting pains that go from my wrists up my arms. And it's hard to open jars or bottles now. I also can't push things - like corks back into bottles of wine. My wrists feel weaker because of it.
My doctor gave me wrist braces and told me to take a painkiller. The wrist braces seemed to help. Frankly, I don't think she believed me.
Just be careful when you type or do any kind of repetitive action. Make sure you're holding your wrists properly. You can also get an ergonomic keyboard if you need one.
Have a nice day,
Kelly
