Neil young is my all-time favorite artist. Dylan is good but Neil is my personal favorite. There is probally 50 of his songs I could listen to over and over again.

Here are some good ones:
Cortez the killer
Sugar Mountain
Old laughing lady
Like a hurricane
The Loner
After the Gold Rush(live version is awesome)
Old man
Heart of Gold

Bob Dylan writes em good but his sound is only average.

As a songwriter, I think Bob Dylan has the edge. He's written an incredible amount of great songs. Live, on the other hand, Neil Young is one of the greatest live acts whereas Dylan is one of the worst. I've seen Dylan twice and Neil Young three times.

Some other great Neil Young songs...

Powderfinger
Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
Cowgirl In the Sand
Walk On
Words

I was at this show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in 2000 -- front row. Best concert I've ever been to!

Bob Dylan is undoubtedly the more innovative and greater songwriter. He's quite probably the greatest songwriter of the second half of the twentieth century. In fact, without Dylan there probably wouldn't have been Neil Young as we know him.

Dylan himselfs listens to Neil Young. It's one of the lyrics to a song called Highlands from the album Time out of Mind:
"I'm listening to Neil Young/
Gotta turn up the sound/
Everybody's always yelling/
Turn it down."
