I have most of the symptoms and am considering buying it.
Does anyone know if this is any good?

[edit]
Since I'm leaning more towards high-functioning autism (I didn't know it was called the same in English as in Dutch), I could ask the same about any good book on HFA. Some that I saw seem to be more for parents with children who have this disorder.

Yes, this is one of the best books. It's a very good overview of Asperger's and is very up-to-date.

I know what you mean about many being geared towards parents. There's a very academic one I recently purchased called High-functioning Individuals With Autism by Schopler and Mesibov. I much prefer academic texts and this one was good. But it is from 1992, is expensive, and had 2 pages missing.

anything by Tony Atwood is probably good. He's been around awhile. I think he writes about A.D.D. too. One really good book is OASIS Guide to Aspergers, I think it is called. Have aspergers in my family.

Have you been diagnosed by a professional? No offense intended but I used to think I had aspergers as well as all sorts of things, SA brings a level of hypochondria with it since we are constantly in our thoughts. If you have these things usually you will have pretty clear cut symptoms and there is no guessing involved.

For Asperger's no but I'm regularly contemplating getting re-diagnosed.
My original given diagnose was "social avoidant behavior", but that was in 2000.

As long as I have my pills I don't feel any anxiety whatsoever, some mild irritation in the company of people at the most (that's without communicating with them).

But when I saw symptoms like :
- very limited body language, wooden appearance
- inability to have any relationships
- serious difficulty in work environment
- communication with other people is usually mentally very tiring

I thought Asperger's, or rather high-functioning autism, since I have a lot of different hobbies.

Maybe I should just get it over with and ask for another diagnosis. Doing tests and looking up info on the web is getting tiring.
