Beta blockers will eliminate some of the physical symptoms of anxiety if you end up panicking, like shakiness, rapid heart rate.
You may want to combine it with a low dose benzo like xanax, if you can tolerate them. They are very helpful mentally and physically for very stressful situations like that. I imagine your doctor wouldn't mind prescribing them as needed if your job is at stake.
