"Attacking Anxiety and Depression"

Hi jesserie,
I don't know what issues you are dealing with but that program helped my brother immensely with his anxiety. He thinks it is great. I don't think it deals that much with the depression but treats it more as a rebound effect of anxiety (which may be partially true).

I have the program and find when I am having a bad day it helps me out alot. I listen to them in my car while driving some times.
I tried it, didn't help me a lick. Mostly just recycled information I already knew and listening to other people describe their anxiety. I'm glad it helps some people, though.

Has anyone tried this and if so, did it help you?
I tried it. It helped a little, but not $300 worth. Maybe $30.
Well, I didn't get anything out of the workbook. Mostly writing down your feelings as pertaining to the certain lesson, goal setting, that sort of thing. No words of wisdom. Sorry, mine was full when I was done and I threw it out.
If you don't mind me asking, for those it helps, what exactly is it that helped? I went through the whole thing and I got nothing out of it.

Like I said, it only helped $30 worth, but what I got out of it was:

- the idea of saying "It's just anxiety" when I'm anxious.
- some of the groups were entertaining.
- um... ok, maybe $20 worth.
I just started it today. I am liking it so far, did Lesson 1 and the relaxation CD.

I don't think it will be a miracle cure, but I think it will help.
Lesson 1 is good, though there are a couple of tapes on perfectionism and OCD I liked also, one on agoraphobia. Not bad, just lots of repetition of stuff you've heard and people complaining.
