I've been vegan for 5 years, (was vegetarian for about 5-6 months before that) I would have jumped into it even quicker but I was only 15 at the time and my mom thought at first that I'd wither away without dairy and eggs in my diet. I did it for ethical reasons as well, health wasn't a factor for me until later on.When/Why did OP/ya'll become a vegan/vegetarian? Just wondering. I did it at first because how animals are treated and factory farming disgusts me, but I've also been enjoying lots of health benefits, too.
Fond!I'm not vegan, though I keep a vegan diet for health reasons. I say it that way because I have many friends who have dedicated their lives to being vegan, purely for the animals, and I don't want to insult anyone who feels very strongly in that direction.
My meals are 90-95% vegan on any given week, and have been for about 6 years now. I started making the change when I was 25 and my doc wanted to put me on high blood pressure medication. This runs in my family (as well as diabetes), and I was like... no. Did the research, and since making changes to mostly vegan diet I have had no blood pressure issues since.
I'm also very found of making green juices
