I have never been committed or admitted since being diagnosed with skitzorpersonality and bi-polar disorder in 2008 and 2010. But I have to wonder if I have been lucky to not have been mentally institutionalized. In recent weeks I'm wanting to go back to work to get off this income just so I would not be tied up with government, be called a leach, and no longer have to worry about my payee ever wanting to committ me.

I have bipolar. Sometimes, I think I need to be hospitalized due to certain things I want to do to myself. It comes and goes. If it gets that bad, see a doctor.

I think if they refuse to take their medication they should be. Schizos in particular are very prone to dropping their meds, because it strikes in adulthood and they are not used to taking it
