Laptop automatically does it when you put one in the application folder & in "finder".
I Don't put random icons/programs on the desktop screen though, It make it look messy and ****.

I don't even use desktop icons because they're pointless. If you're making the best use of your screen space, you'll never get to see your desktop.

I used to keep my program icons on the left in order that I used them and games on the right in the same order. Now I don't use icons at all.

My icons are all a mess because I like being able to see my desktop haha

I have no desktop icons. Don't like them and don't need them. Bleh.
