I prefer AMD, but i haven't tested them vs intel or anything. Building your own is good too, if you know how. I usually do.. 'cept i'm lazy and it takes me weeks after i get the parts to get around to putting it all together, installing windows, applying the 10 billion security fixes, installing linux, etc.
