First time I saw this on MTV at night I didn't think much of it until I heard my friend singing it and I decided to look at it on youtube. I recommend you guys watch the video, it kind of relates with people who have SAD. I don't know but this song gets to me on so many levels.

[Verse 1]
Day and night (what, what)
I toss and turn, I keep stressing my mind, mind (what, what)
I look for peace but see I don't attain (what, what)
What I need for keeps this silly game we play .. play
Now look at this (what, what)
Madness to magnet keeps attracting me, me (what, what)
I try to run but see I'm not that fast (what, what)
I think I'm first but surely finish last .. last

[Chorus]
Cause day and night (day and night)
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night (night, night)
He's all alone, through the day and night (day and night)
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at night (at, at, at night)
Day and night (day and night)
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night (night, night)
He's all alone some things will never change (never change)
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at night (at, at, at night)

[Verse 2]
Hold the phone (what, what)
The lonely stoner, mr. solo dolo (what, what)
He's on the move can't seem to shake the shade (what, what)
Within his dreams he see's the life he made .. made
The pain is deep (what, what)
A silent sleeper you won't hear a peep, peep (what, what)
The girl he wants don't seem to want him too (what, what)
It seems the feelings that she had are through .. through

He's all alone some things will never change (yea) (never change)
The lonely loner seems to free his mind (yea) at night (at, at, yea at night)

[Verse 3]
Slow-mo (what, what)
When the temple slows up and creates that new, new (what, what)
He seems alive though he is feeling blue (what, what)
The sun is shining man he's super cool, cool
The lonely nights (what, what)
They fade away he slips into his white nike's (what, what)
He smokes a clip and then he's on the way (what, what)
To free his mind in search of
To free his mind in search of
To free his mind in search of

[Chorus]
Day and night
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night (night, night)
He's all alone, through the day and night (day and night)
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at night (at, at, at night)
Day and night (day and night)
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night (night, night)
He's all alone some things will never change (never change)
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at night (at, at, at night, night)

At, at, at night (night)

Na, na, na, na, na, na

Yea Kid Cudi is good because he's not afraid to rap about his insecurities. You don't get that a lot. Another song he made that is sort of like this is called "Man on the Moon"

Never heard of this artist, not really my genre but I liked this video and the lyrics. I think from now on when I go places, I'm going to turn peoples faces into giant owl heads.

I can definitely relate to this too. It's not a bad song, but I absolutely hate when people point out that the lyrics sound like me and then start teasing me about it every time it comes on. I can't stand that.

My friend wasn't actually pointing out the lyrics and telling me that they reminded him of me but I get what you mean. As soon as I read the lyrics I was like "thats me".

Ya I got his mixtape like 4 months ago and when I heard this song right away I connected with him. You should definitely, get his first mixtape, most of the songs people like us can connect to. Cudi is gonna be a good rapper and I can't wait for his album to drop.

I love that song. When I first heard it I felt like I understood it completely.

Here's another you might like... I would recommend listening to the song while you read it. It creates a better connection to the song.

There There - Radiohead

in pitch dark i go walking in your landscape.
broken branches trip me as i speak.
just 'cause you feel it doesnt mean its there.
just 'cause you feel it doesnt mean its there.

There's always a siren
Singing you to shipwreck
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)
Steer away from these rocks
We'd be a walking disaster
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean its there.
(theres someone on your shoulder)
(theres someone on your shoulder)
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean its there.
(theres someone on your shoulder)
(theres someone on your shoulder)
There there!

why so green and lonely?
and lonely
and lonely

heaven sent you to me
to me
to me

we are accidents
waiting waiting to happen.

we are accidents
waiting waiting to happen

Yeah, I'm starting to really like this song! I remember at first writing it off as another bland hip-hop song, but then I heard the lyrics and was fairly impressed. Definitely a bit unusual for an artist from this genre to write lyrics like this.

I am glad you all liked it =). It's true, it is hard to find original hip hop nowadays I am so tired of the typical "studio gangsters" trying to impress people with their money, cars, and women. Kid Cudi seems a lot different, I am definitely digging him, I listened to some other songs of his and they are a different kind of hip hop. I would say his style is alternative hip hop, I hope he sticks to it because his style brings a fresh air to music in this genre. Not much into hip hop myself but this guy is that talented that it got me interested into wanting to listen more and more of him.

OMG lol Kid cudi is basically what i listen to to get through the day cause I feel like the man on the moon. lol i guess u can see by my name and pic. I was actually just about to make a post about him too. He has this orignial smooth sound which just makes things feel easier.

My favorite songs of his are:

Man on the moon
The Prayer
Day and Night

although i love almost all the songs on the album.

Man on the moon

"But my mind is all crazy, crazy, crazy,crazy...
They got me thinkin' I ain't human,
Like I came in from above, above, above, above...
Feelin' like a airplane in the sky
But then they say I'm crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy...
They got me thinkin' I ain't human,
Like I came in from above, above, above, above...
Feelin' like a bird sittin' high high

I be that man on the moon
I'm that man on the moon
And I'ma do what I do
So do you hey hey
I be posted with my blunt and a brew my dude
I'm that man on the moon
I'm up up on the moon"
