I was talking to this guy on facebook and I am really glad I got to talk to him for so long. I think he liked talking to me. Which is really good too. But I am worried that I sounded to much like a "dork." I was talking about quantum mechanics lol. I never talk about anything that is not serious.

Try being not serious sometimes. People don't always want to have serious conversations. Part of becoming more social is learning to have those empty BS conversations with people to initiate friendships and relationships. Most people aren't prepared to have a deep serious discussion right off the bat. Also, it's important to cultivate a good sense of humor. Humor helps to significantly break the proverbial ice and makes you seem more like an open person.

Don't second guess yourself. If he was engaged in the conversation, that's what counts. I think one of the worst things we can do is what was suggested above(no offense!). Confident people don't sit around analyzing what they said or if they need to be 'funnier' or 'more serious' in future conversations. They say what's on their mind and what they find interesting, knowing that it's valid and worthwhile.

The fact that you can speak on the topic at all makes you a unique and interesting individual. I know NOTHING about the subject- you're welcome to babble to me about it any time!

Well, maybe it is not as bad as I made it sound. I did try to be funny. I sent him a clip of bill o' reiley, who is always funny unintentionally. I think he did like what we talked about. He might be dorkish too. I saw on his facebook a dragonball z quiz.
