Should I tell me doctor I broke the rules and took more than my prescription called for?

..think I'm just gonna say .5's aren't doing much for my panic attacks. But then I think he'll just give me Ativan.

Hmmm.

Trying to pick doctors' minds is a chore.

unless he keeps a record of the xanax he prescribes you, few do, I wouldnt tell him
but its possible you built up a tollerence to the sedation of the old dose and will eventually get a tollerence to the new dose

some are highty sedated by a new benzo and this limits the dose, unlsee you want to be staggering around, apparently drunk

however, some take about 6mg to stop a panic attack

Up to you, if you think he's going to switch you that's a judgment call. You could say you need to take 2 .5mg pills for it to work and ask him to prescribe 1mg pills. I know .5mg of xanax did nothing for me, 1mg was OK but valium works way better so that's what I take.

My previous doc gave me a lousy script for 30 .5mg pills a day and only wanted me to take .25mg at a time. When I told him that it took .5mg to knock the panic out, he didn't scold me or anything so I thought he would give me 30 1mg (.5mg twice a day) but he wrote me another script for 30 .5mg pills as if it went in one ear and out the other. He was so rude and condescending I stopped going to him. As you probably saw from my recent post I'm currently having issues with doctors so I don't know what to tell ya.
