An area of low pressure moving west from the Northwest coast of Australia into the eastern Indian Ocean. That's the only activity in the whole world?!

It just shifts around the world.
We have a possible future Otto southeast of the Bahamas.

I'm near the tip of the middle finger. :D Cheboygan...not far from the Straits area.

I always recommend Mackinac Island for anyone interested in visiting, though I avoid the whole touristy aspect of it, and always head off into the woods to wander around alone when I go there. (I'm more interested in nature/history than shopping.)

I'd like to see more of Michigan too but can't travel much. :/

Two cyclones in the Southwest Pacific, a tropical storm in the western Indian Ocean by Madagascar, and a possible forming cyclone west of Australia.

I don't even know when the peak of the season is, but it's busy down south!

Well, the mini hurricane season ended pretty quick. Alex had an eye and everything! Pali in the Central Pacific stretched out and dissipated at 1.8degrees N latitude due to "high winds" - I'm like "yeah, 'cause you messin wit da Coriolis Force, yo! Ain't nobody messin' wit da E-QUAY-TAH!" :haha

Yeah, even the NHC was stunned. The upper level low on top of the storm moved west and out of the way, allowing it to wind up. It's also over 68F water. I think they'll be studying this one for a while.

I am still looking up Hurricane Pali near the equator.

Hurricane Pali - a late season Central Pacific Hurricane is expected to be among the furthest south on record. It is expected to be down around 2.5 degrees N latitude.

A low in the Central Atlantic may be acquiring subtropical characteristics in the next few days, making it possible to have a named storm in January. El Nino is WEIRD!

El Nino is messing up the Atlantic storms with shear. Another depression (#9A) is about to be blown away - the swirl is there, but no thunderstorms. TD #10A is to its southeast and could become T.S. Ida. The Central Pacific (Hawaii) has been VERY busy with El Nino.

The W Pacific "season" starts in March, but it's almost year round out there.

In the winter and spring months, the Indian Ocean starts up (Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal)......then in the spring the South Pacific gets it. It's neat to see the clockwise rotation down south. A couple of storms have formed near the equator, which is weird, too.
