I volunteered to work for a charity

So I've always wanted to do something good to help people, but I just never knew where to start.
So two days ago I was walking home from the bank and I happened to pass my local british heart foundation, I noticed a sign on it saying "volunteers needed" and I don't know why but I just marched straight into the shop and asked if I could volunteer.
Then yesterday I started working on the shop floor, I met some really great people my age.

I usually feel very uncomfortable when communicating with people my own age, but I felt really calm and natural with these people and before I knew it I now have three new friends!
I'm so happy.

ALWAYS DO THE IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Even if it scares you.

Congratulations! It feels good to do good.

That's really nice, I've been looking to do some volunteering or charity as well, but just the idea of doing something for others is very nice. I think usually they're also things where a lot of people are doing for the first time, or don't know each other... so it's a bit awkward for everyone involved, which is not a bad thing

Great job! I'm planning on volunteering at my hospital and I'm pretty excited about it too, can't wait to see what it brings.

I'm thrilled for you!! Instead of just slinging sludge and hatred at the world and humanity (like is soooo popular around here) -you've chosen to give of yourself and do something constructive and kind! -Thank You!
