Same for me.

Yeah it is, I've taken high doses of nordic naturals epa/dha (epa xtra) and found it caused problems with my sleep, I was too wired all the time on it. I've been taking a high dose of krill oil daily for a month now and have had none of these side effects, and I do feel as though my thoughts are clearer. Not sure if it does anything for SA/anxiety, but I'm taking it for general health anyway.

I've been taking 3 a day (1,200 mg) for a few years and also haven't felt any different mentally. I still take them for the heart benefits but I don't see the mental benefit.

depends on the epa/dha levels in the fish oil, you need around 1000mg of epa daily to notice anything.

I was told this too, and advised to take it by an eye doc, but it costs like $30 for 60 capsules.

if you guys want another brand that provides a high quality product is 'Carlson's fish oil', they say on the label that any kind of toxin are filtered out. There are many different variations of the same product.

http://well.ca/products/carlson-norw...oil_20763.html

Heres a link for the canadians, well.ca ships everywhere in canada for free and the prices are comparable to if you buy them yourself.

Umm yeah you don't want cod liver oil. It's been well documented that the vitamin benefits in cod liver oil aren't all that effective. Also very low in epa/dha, so you would wind up having to consume 9 of those per day.

For some reason, I've always found omega-3's to actually increase stuff like anxiety / inflammation etc. in my body. Probably related to some odd factors affecting prostaglandins and such that I'm probably nowhere near intelligent enough to understand :P but still, quite odd.

question for the uk peeps; which omega 3 supplements would you recommend? (something that isn't too expensive and has really good epa/dha levels) .i'm thinking of trying these again i'd like to go for something which is a good bargain though.

This stuff might cause pimples as well. I stopped taking it after 3 weeks because my skin was breaking out in whiteheads everyday the whole time, after being acne-free all year. The breakouts promptly stopped after.

Well I've been taking around 1000mg (150mg epa/90mg dha) of krill oil daily for 2 months now and I can say it has pretty much cancelled out any depression I use to suffer from. Did nothing for my anxiety.

Yep same for me, fish oil has really done wonders for depression and proves to be a good adjunct to nardil in helping mood and greatly lessening irritability.

but after over 3 months of taking Omega 3 fish oil capsules three times daily I can assure everyone that they have no effect on mood or anxiety,.."

I find it 'interesting' that ones own experience deems they can now " assure everyone that they have no effect on mood or anxiety,.." . And why an update when there was no doubt the 1st time ? Momentary rationale?

I doubt all grades of fish oil are the same for all people. To think your result would suit everyone is funny to me .

I've read a lot that Omega 3 (EPA DHA) has neurotrophic (promotes neuronal growth). I think this phenomenon is most beneficial for people with re-occurent major depressions.

Another thing that I know Omega does is *greatly* decrease the risk of having sudden heart attack.
