Notice of Permanent Bannings
SAS is meant to be a welcoming community for people with social anxiety to communicate with each other, and the forum guidelines are naturally designed to keep it that way. Unfortunately, some members repeatedly choose to ignore the guidelines and cause a lot of trouble here, so it occasionally becomes neccessary to issue a permanent ban. Of course it is a shame (especially) when this happens to long-term members. As has been often said before, permanent bans are never issued lightly. If a well-known member suffers this fate, they may just leave gracefully or some create duplicate accounts, and attempt to stir up further trouble with accusations against the moderators and so on. Either way, there is often a lot of discussion on the board about such bans and speculation as to why. Though you probably know that mentioning the usernames of permanently banned members (if not other things about them) is not allowed. Except maybe in exceptional circumstances, we can't give the reasons for a ban anywhere. Although permabanned members can be recognised by their status, this thread is just meant to give a little more clarity by recording some notable permanent bans (starting from 2017) with the date they were issued.
