Clinical Conclusions from UK Treatment data

There are some interesting lectures by Professor David Clark of the UK NHS on the effectiveness of treatments for SAD based on collected pre and post treatment data.

Findings include:

Safety behaviours e.g standing at the back - do not help treat SAD

Exposure therapy is partly useful but does not work in the same way as for e.g arachnophobia

Individual CBT is the most cost-effective route
rather than group CBT

Image rescripting - may help resolve difficult cases

Medication is of little benefit for resolving SAD
