I often get angry at God for being ill

Do you?

I often get so angry at God that I have to live with all these psychological illnesses and futhermore some physical.

All my life has been a struggle with one setback after another. I developed social anxiety when I was a young teenager and then later the general anxiety and depression.

Futhermore, last year I went through major surgery leaving me infertile and I don't have any children but wanted.

I know God can heal me and I pray for it every day. When I talk to other christians they always tell me God has a plan with my life and that all this that I am going through is a part of His plan for my life. I understand that but I can't help but wonder how 40 years of suffering can be His plan...

Credo,

I'm sorry you have to go through so much. I don't have all the answers and I won't try to give you just any pat answer. I know you've heard that all before. I will tell you that I think it's ok to be angry at God and sometimes I get angry at Him too. I think He's big enough to handle it. I think the danger is when we stop talking to Him altogether.

I don't know why you've had to suffer so much but I do know God can use our suffering for His good. For instance, have you been able to relate to anyone and help them deal with pain in their own life because of what you've gone through? God may have chosen you to be that one person who could reach out to them. I find that comforting to know that God can give my pain some purpose.

Hang in there Credo and please know I'm praying for you.

Karen

Hi I often feel that way too. Sometimes i don't even think i have faith in God because i examine myself closely and only see the flaws and ask God why i have to suffer from this when there are worse people out there who do not? I guess its fair because this is only one life, out of an eternity..just some thoughts.

No, not really. I lead a very lonely life.

Hi Credo,
I'm sorry about all the suffering you've been through. I'm sure that God has good things in store for you. Sometimes you just have to let go of everything you are going through. I know you feel like God is punishing you, but those feelings are what's keeping you from God's best. You may not have everything you want in life, but God can lift you up high and calm your spirit, no matter how bad things are. If you turn your focus away from your problems, and towards God. God will start making changes in your life. He wants you to be happy, and he wants to give you a new life. Instead of asking God to help you with your struggles, ask God what you can do for others. Even if you have nothing to give, there is always a way to help someone in need. Sometimes all you have to do is pray for someone, give something you don't need away, or give someone a smile. Once you focus on what God wants you to be, God will start to make changes in your life. So keep your head up, and start asking God to guide you and tell you what he wants you to do. If you do your part, God promises that he will do his part. He is all knowing and all powerful, and the God in you is greater than the problems you face.

Credo,

In some ways, what God had done for me is a double-edge sword (no pun intended). There are at times when I really thought He was punishing me (like in my two-year Job trial). So many others got blessings, when I seemed to get worse and worse. By the end, the only thing I had left (literally) was my faith. It wasn't until it was over that God kinda pulled me aside during prayer and said "I couldn't do this to just anyone." Without even telling me why, I knew He meant it for my strength. I don't know where I would be without what He has done ("good" and "bad"). I am honored to have been chosen to be picked for what I go through, but also it is humbling so that I can understand other people's pain.

I don't know; this was just a different perspective ,

I don't believe God likes to see you suffer from these problems. No one deserves this. It's NOT God's plan for you to be sick. He can give you the strength to cope. Until one day He will heal us of this dreaded SA/anxiety disorders. In the meantime through His word he tells us how to deal with one day at a time.
