Will you switch to the new version of Windows (Vista) when it comes out?

Last I heard, it will be available for consumers in early 2007.

Vista costs too much and my computer has only 512mb RAM, and you know to be able to use it without major slowness it will take at least 1gb (see recommended).
Windows XP has been fine for me up until now, why "upgrade" and get new problems just for a new interface to gawk at (it is pretty though).

I won't upgrade from XP but if I get another PC no doubt it will have Vista. Don't expect we'll be given an option.

The screenshots of it look pretty, I congratulate the artists, but it sounds crippled still. If WinFS and monad were in it I might be intruigued, since those are actual innovations, but as it is the only thing I've heard that sounds positive is that it finally supports symlinks, a few decades after everybody else has. If I switch from Linux it'll probably be to Solaris or OS X, but I don't anticipate it.

You can order a computer without an OS and find a copy of XP on amazon/ebay/etc. You can still buy Windows '98. As a bonus, doing it that way means you don't get HP/Dell's pre-installed spyware, advertising and trial versions gunk.

Nah. Hopefully I will get a new laptop in a few years and it will be on there. I'm not going to mess up what I already have on my current laptop.

XP SP2 works fine for me so I have no plans to upgrade. The only way I'll ever get it is installed on a new PC, but thats probably several years down the road.

Nope, I don't plan to upgrade. I just got a new computer with XP and I'm very happy with it.

I'll only upgrade if I really want to use a new program that requires Vista.

Why would I ever want to upgrade to Windows from Linux?

Eventually i'll have to get Vista, since i play games on my PC and at some point they'll end up requiring DirectX10 (which is Vista only).

It will be CPU hog - no doubt!
I already see a LOT of trouble with this OS, more than XP had.
