i used the container to decant off a great number of them. i think if i shake it they mostly go to the bottom and then they like to walk on the plastic. and then i took the muesli from the top. but i still found 8 ants floating so far.

ug just remember to put the muesli in the container i bought specifically so there wouldn't be ants! they only came because i left it in the bag

As soon as you have more ants than you have aunts, throw it out.

I went with 4, but idk, it depends if there is a possibility of more ants.

Seems wasteful to throw away food

How do you have ants in winter? Don't they die or hibernate or something? I never get ants except in summer.

The correct answer is: infinite ants. Ants are a great source of organic, free-range protein. They should be added to your morning bowl of cereal like raisins. If they are still alive that's OK, they're just really fresh. They are great for the environment, the human body and of course the price is right.

Ohhh really? I thought he was in the UK. Yea they're weird down there, with their opposite seasons and crazy toilets that flush backwards and their walking on the Earth upside down without ever falling off. Bunch of weirdos if you ask me. ; )

Three if they are only on the outside of the packet and one if it is in the food itself. Sometimes if a tiny bug lands in my drink, Iíll take it out and try to forget about it, but then all I can think about is the bug and I donít really want it anymore.

If I eat too many, I start to get sick of them. So I'll say a handful or two.

I'm not sure tbh - I think nowadays if I found any at all I'd chuck the whole lot.

They used to get in the sugar up in Bali and I didn't care back then. I went a bit native up there sometimes. (as I'm sure I've mentioned before)

I much prefer an ant infestation over an aunt infestation. The former just swarms and eats. The latter swarms, eats and insults.

What goes up, will inevitably come back down. Whoever you have to step on when you go up, you will be at their mercy when you go down.

The truth is strictly what the ones in power perceives it to be.

Enjoy any good things, even the little and menial ones, as you will never know what impending distresses could descend upon you in a moment.

True, but then nobody cares when you poison the ants.

@andy1984 andy andy. This poll is madness, and let me tell you why...

It's impossible to answer unless you specify which time period the situation occurs in. At any other point in history, past or distant future (apocalypse), due to food shortages, a squadron of ants in ones cereal would be considered a welcome blessing due to the hardships of getting adequate foods.

It's only during the last 100 years, where our privilege is so high that a previous (or future) cry of "omfg, set the cerial trap, I heard on the radiophone there's an ant swarm coming" is now "gross, there's 19 ants in my cerial, I'm not ****ing eating this".

Two. If it's just one, you can pick it off and eat the cereal. It might have been an accident. Perhaps one ant veered off its path, got lost and ended up in the cereal. But if there are two, you know it's an orchestrated invasion. No matter how many you remove, there might be others. You can never eat this cereal and feel secure in the knowledge that it contains no ants.

I usually ignore ants in the house. I never find them in food because I usually buy food in antresistent (or antproof) packaging. Common ants are harmless. My parents go nuts if they see a few ants but all of their food is canned or refrigerated anyway so why do they care?

The only thing that bothers me is if I start finding a lot of them crawling on the counters and so forth. Not in a "that's not sanitary!" sort of way but it just annoys me. I don't see ants as dirty bugs. I wouldn't want to eat them though. So I guess it kind of annoys me if they're on the counter because of the possibility they could get in my food. Like I just wouldn't want to eat an ant because it's disgusting to think about eating bugs.
