I just have to wear them for reading, started about late 40's or early 50's I can't remember. I just get those cheap ones from the chemist and they seem to do the job.

I’ve worn them since I was 14. Mine are for astigmatism, which is -5.50 and -5.25. Prescriptions for that usually only go up to -6.

Yeah but not when just around the house. I wear them outside because my distance vision is blurry so it's like 144p or something. I got them when I was 19 what finally inspired me to go get my eyes checked/glasses was I was having some trouble reading stuff at the front of the class in lecture halls and one time I borrowed my friend's glasses and could see better lol.

Yeah I've had glasses since I was 8 or 9 couldn't see the blackboard at school, near sighted, as blind as a bat :-)... I have prescription sunglasses use them for driving if sun glare is bad.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

No my eye sight is good still so I don't need glasses, though I imagine as I age I will need them for reading, everyone in my family seems too. I do wear sunglasses for when I'm driving, helps with the glare especially in winter time with the light reflecting off the snow.

Same here. About 5th grade I could not see the board at school either. So my teacher told my mom at parent teacher conference I was blind as a bat and she needed to take me to the Eye doc.

I've gotten use to the fact that I'll have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. Without them I'm almost legally blind. I can't get corrective eye surgery or laser treatments. There was a time in my life when I didn't wear glasses, like when I was a little kid and partly in my teens. Sometimes I envy people who don't have to wear them, but they've become a part of me.

I m afraid of not being enough

I have to wear them to work on my computer or watch TV, and I would need to if I drove. I started wearing them when I was 18. I've had the same pair of glasses for about 20 years now because I can't afford to go back and get my eyes checked. The nose pads are long gone, the bridge has worn down from rubbing against my nose, the ends of the ear pieces are broken off, and I have to tighten the screws every day. They're probably completely the wrong prescription by now.

Beauty isn't everything. It's the only thing.

I have near perfect vision so no. One eye is stronger than the other though so if I close the other eye there is a slight blur. But with both open there is no noticeable blurriness. I do have a problem with my retinas however so sometimes I see weird disturbances in my vision. I've been told it can't be corrected but isn't anything really serious.

Yeah since I was like 10. I don’t wear them all the time though, only to drive and when at work.

I started wearing them when I was 7 but got bullied for it so I stopped. Surprisingly, my vision got better as I got older. Now my right eye has become blurry and weaker than my left so I had to wear them again but mostly when working on my computer.

yeah, in my fifties I had to begin wearing them. I hate them. My eyes are such that laser surgery won't work and contacts haven't been an option either but I'm going to go back to my optometrist and see if any new advances have been made. These glasses drive me mad.

...you gotta keep the goal in mind, develop tunnel vision to a certain extent. it's hard, and it's not for everyone.

Wore glasses for nearsightedness since I was 14. Now I have developed presbyopia. I haven't started using reading glasses yet. If I take my regular glasses off I can read things up close.
