Why did no one ever invite me to try drugs as a teen?

Well I mean I never went to a party or anything either as a teenager, but it makes me feel like there's something wrong with me when you consider that it seems like almost every teen has that happen to them. I wouldn't have tried drugs even if I had been invited though, it just concerns me that no one even invited me to try it with them :/

I'm not complaining about it since I'm glad I never got involved in that stuff, but it's something I never experienced either. I had my first taste of alcohol freshman year in college, I didn't even know what weed smelled like until around that time too. The partying, the drugs, the alcohol...in high school...just sounds so weird to me. It's not like I was sheltered either, my high school was in a low-middle class area outside of Detroit. I guess it just depends on how social you were and who you associated with.

Uh-huh. People just always seem to experiment round that age huh?

Well i never did. Because i had no friends. And thus i felt like a freak. Every teen had alcohol and drug experience and i didnt. Just another precious experience i missed out on. (ON A VERY LONG LIST!)

Maybe they thought you looked like a decent respectable person who wouldn't want to try drugs? HORRORS!!

Exactly.

It's one thing to have felt excluded from normal teen activities. To have felt excluded from illegal teen activities is something else entirely, and frankly, I can't really see the issue with it.

Why does never having been invited to engage in illegal behavior bother you more than never having been invited to engage in legal behavior...?

If you HAD been asked to take drugs, I wonder if you'd be here posting instead, "Why did kids keep asking me to try drugs?? Do I just look like a criminal or a druggie?? Is there something wrong with me that they thought I'd be into that??"

If I don't reply to you, it's NOTHING PERSONAL. It's my ANXIETY.

environment? i grew up in south central LA and was offered drugs by the age of 11.

On the 7th day God said, "Let there be heavenly music." And it was so. God called it "Trance and House Music" And God was pleased with what he heard and saw that it was good.

I don't. I just was bothered that I hadn't been INVITED to try them. I wouldn't have actually done it.

As f***** up as this sounds I've often thought about this myself.

A random homeless guy asked me if I had crack once, though...

Contrary to all the D.A.R.E videos and propaganda we went through growing up, nobody offered me drugs nor was I pressured to take drugs. Scoring weed was a chore, the only way people would open up was by making the right friends.

I imagine if you live in ghettos of cities or in the south US you'd have more of an opportunity with drugs around, but I think if you give a closed off persona (which a lot of people with social anxiety do), you'll be less likely to be invited in that culture.

Because the world isn't an anti drug propaganda video. People don't go around offering drugs to random strangers for kicks.

Why do you even care? I thought Marijuana was eeeeeeeeeevil?

Maybe you give out a straight-edge vibe? But I don't see why it bothers you unless you actually want to try them

I understand your point of view. Drinking and drugs never interested me but it's one of those things that act as a right of passage for growing up. It's not that you actually want to get into those things, but you want other people to see you as someone with life experience and not someone sheltered and naive.

HAHAHA

:

I felt a strange; unfamiliar sensation, as my mouth and tounge formed words, creating a smooth vibration. The words progressed into complete thoughts and ideas, that had resided within my mind, impenetrable for years. The ability to speak and express how you feel is the virtue of patience, eloquence, and zeal.

TAKE A JAUNT THROUGH THE INESCAPABLE MIND!!!

I hope you all decide to make ONE improvement today...

It's interesting how many straight edge people occupy this particular site. Unusual to say the least. Everyone at my HIGH School experimented with: Alcohol, marijuana, ecstacy, cocaine, 'shrooms, LSD, Nitrous; you know, the usual party drugs. It actually brought me out of my comfort zone and I somewhat enjoyed school because of their social influence. Don't be so scared, you aren't going to melt and evaporate into the atmosphere lmao.

You'd have to show some kind of interest in taking drugs if you expect to be offered drugs. People dont go around sharing the drugs they've paid for willy nilly

I wish it was like the PSA commercials and somebody would just randomly offer me free drugs but never turned out like that I never had any friends and spent most of my time self-isolating in my room so the situation never presented itself I did slightly get hooked on painkillers when I was like 21 what it wasn't like I was addicted I didn't see the appeal but I guess painkillers wouldn't be considered a hard drug
