Oh, I forgot one more thing that's bothering me. Yesterday after we let Morty out (he's constantly in and out, won't stay inside for incredibly long during the day, and always cries and acts out to go outside around 5AM), he hung out by the ditch for a while (he's been doing that lately), then crossed the highway, just as a car was coming.
Why must he go across the damn highway? What's over there that he can't find over here? That's how his brother died, crossing that stupid highway. We keep him so well fed and cared for, and he has my cat to play with, I can't understand why he still wants to go outside in the dark and cold and wet rather than just stay with us. I was really hoping we'd work the feral out of him before winter, but it's not looking like it'll happen. I could've lived with that...if I didn't now know that he has no problem wandering out into the highway.
Last year around this time, it was him and Lee and the calico. Then it was just him and Lee. Now...it's just him that's left.
I get the feeling that like Lee he won't be with us for very long.
I hate that thought. Why did God/life/whatever put these cats with us if He/it/whatever just intends for them to be killed once we've grown close to them??
If I don't reply to you, it's NOTHING PERSONAL. It's my ANXIETY.

Det. Kristeva: "If it were legal you'd marry me, right?"
Det. Devetko: "Definitely."
(It's legal now!! But Kristeva's already married. ;_; )
