My right knee hurts

My right knee has been killing me off and on. It is worse if I sit for a duration. Also, when I put my leg out straight I can hear and feel it pop. It gets so bade sometimes I got to just lay down with my leg straight. Also, when it is acting up it hurts me to walk up stars which I have those in my house. My dad suffers from osteoarthritis and I think I inherited it from him. I think the moist cool weather has been aggravating it.

I would take glucosamine chondroitin in the meantime - for the joints.
I often have pain in my knees after running. My Paxil fat doesn't help as it makes for more @$$ to haul!

My dad takes glucosamine. I need to start taking it. I will have to buy some. I think wallie world has it and if they don't I can go to GNC at the mall here or I can go to the health food store that is near my workplace.

Re: My right knee hurts

I feel your pain I've had arthritis in my right knee since I was 16 and it's spread to my left knee and both hips. Glucosamine chondroitin does help, along with calcium suppliments. Too, I think the biggest thing is when it hurts, it helps me to get up and walk around, as odd as that sounds. The days that I don't do that, it hurts worse than if I took a walk. I've also heard that fish oil helps too.

You also have access to vast amounts of some of the most powerful painkillers ever created. Many chronic pain patients aren't so fortunate due to our DEA and their War On Pain Patients & the doctors who treat them.

Here's a crazy idea-- rather than self-diagnose why not see a doctor??

Just a thought..

Re: My right knee hurts

You might have a loose knee cap.
I had the same issue, for the most part. Well, my dad and other relatives don't have any sort of osteoarthritis. BUT, I will say that I went to the doctor, and she told me that I have loose kneecaps.
So, perhaps, your one knee cap is loose. Which leg is dominant? I mean... whichever hand you use most is likely the leg you put the most pressure on or step biggest with. That might contribute.
The doctor gave me quadricep exercises.. so the muscles around my knee will hold the cap in place, and it has undoubtedly worked!

I agree, see a doctor so you know what the problem is.
I have arthritus in both hips and found wonderful relief from glucosmine (lubricates the joints) and chondroitin (helps with the pain). You have to take it every day as it is not a cure.
My old dogs are on it too.

I have had knee problems on and off including torn cartilidge, dislocated knee caps, severe strains and micro tears in ligaments and tendons.

Yoga has helped me over time.

I use blue emu cream from Walmart (in the isle with ben gay and other topicals very bottom shelf) I swear by it.It has glucosamine, MSM, in emu oil. I use it before every walk or skate I do and really helps, and I think it even helps improves the general function of the knee overtime.

The downside is it is like almost $14 a jar, but it is well worth it. Don't cheap out though and get the less expensive ones.

The one I get doesn't stain your knee blue it doesn't have a smell, and it doesn't burn or feel weird and it absorbs well. No one knows you have it on your knee. You just spred it on the area giving you trouble and rub it in and you are good to go.

My dad also has knee problems and has been taking a pill form of chondrotin and glucosamine and reports improved results as well.

I would say rest it as much as possible, but I think you are on your feet alot at work.

Thanks for the info. I will get some the next time I am in Wallie world.

Yeah I do a lot of running around at work going to the file room and going to the group homes. I also have flat feet and I had a club right foot when I was born. I was a long baby and didn't fit in moms womb so I ended up turning my foot so I could fit. They straighten the foot with braces, but the tendons are shorter in that foot. So I get pain in that foot on occasion esp when I walk too much. They can surgery add more tendon but they would have to break the leg to do it, which I don't really like the sound of that.

Re: My right knee hurts

It comes and goes. I have been up and moving a lot which helps, but my knee still pops if I move my leg up and down. My dad has the same problem. It must be an inherited condition. My dad also started to have trouble with his joints in his 30's. I don't think I will become as bad as him due to I never spent years working in a factory.
