I dont want to be ungreatful....

Hey guys, so here is the situation. My mom got sick with an undiagnosed mental illness 10 years ago. We dont know what is wrong with her because she refuses to get help. She quit her job and left my dad to take care of the family which stressed my dad out and really is not fair. She was also very rude to my dad, sister, and I was not there for me. Anyway, my dad divorced her and she lives in a group home and she got half of my dad's money (which she didn't work for). However, instead of spending all the money she got from the divorce on herself she offered to help pay for my college. Even though she offered to do this she still refuses to get help for her problems....what should I think of this?

Perhaps you don't know what to do because its out of character for her.

She is still your mother, I wouldn't feel guilty for letting her help you if that's the issue.

Maybe she's trying to sort herself out and this is the first step.

"Sometimes I wish I wasn't as conscious as I am. It would be so much easier."

You have to look and see what your mothers illness is. Is it part of her symptoms to do something like that? Trust your instincts, don't under look it.

Our hopes and expectations. Black holes and revelations.
