fear and negativity

constant fear that things will go wrong in my life, that i wont make friends, that i wont find a job, that i will have to move in with my parents again, that i wont have enough money to live on my own. That i wont make good music and all of that. It's like constantly today and the last couple of days. Fear all the ****ing time, how can i calm myself down?

Hello, I think we all have worries about our future. Perhaps there's something in particular recently that triggered your worries as well.

Try to perhaps think how have things been in the past few weeks, and take particular note of the good events that might show that you're going in the right direction. There are bound to be times when we doubt ourselves but we must remind ourselves of our past successes too and build up on our strengths from those events.

I go for body balance (fusion of tai chi, yoga and pilates) nearly every evening and that really calms my mind down a lot in the evening, so perhaps you could do some light exercises as well and during that moment in time tell yourself that you deserve this moment of calm to treat yourself well and let your worries flow away.

I hope you'll start feeling better soon

yes i do that sometimes as i sit down and play an instrument. it takes my mind of it for the time but then doing something else again it comes up and its sort of like a light, constant panic attack. I talk to my mom daily on the phone, she rationalizes with me. but that's about it. Then i ask myself if i'm becoming this fearful paranoid person. I never used to be like this, i used to always look on the small bright stuff and just be happy eitherway. I miss my old self.

My therapist was supposed to do CBT with me, but I've sort of derailed the process with all of my other problems. I'm sure you could find a book and go through the steps.
