Coworkers gave me a fruit basket as an apology

They wrote on the card that they apologize for being dicks and put the basket on my desk. No I did not eat the fruit...because I don't like fruit. Obviously I didn't want to keep the card either, but wanted to make my roommate laugh. Then I threw the card away.

What! Who doesn't like fruit lol?

Would you rather have some gummies?

I've been seeking happiness for years.
I've lived in hiding from the darkness.
I've spent so many hours in question.
I've prayed that God finds me soon.
Only to realize I must find myself.

Do you have a favorite apple? Macintosh? Granny Smith?

The apology was not sincere. They apologized to me because the boss found out what they did to me.

They said a rude comment about me behind my back. Of course I wasn't there when it happened, but the boss overheard and had a meeting with all of us. I kept asking what they said about me, but the boss just told me not to worry about it. So I will never find out what they said about me and that's going to be annoying because it's best to know than not know.

Yeah getting a fruit basket as an apology from coworkers does sound insincere, almost downright resentful, like your boss told them to apologize somehow and they came up with something they knew you probably wouldn't like. Don't eat the fruit. Maybe it's spiked with laxatives or something. Anyway I hope those people don't give you any trouble in the future. There's nothing worse than having to be around people that actively dislike you on a regular basis, especially if you have SA. Good luck.

Sucks that the apology was probably insincere. At least it sounds like your boss doesn't tolerate that kind of behavior. I've had supervisors make fun of me and they were perfectly fine with others making fun of me. As devitalized said, I would be worried they spit on the fruits or something.

What would you do if they said "he looks like a frog." Lol?

I was thinking that was pretty good of 'the boss' to deal with that.

These coworkers sound like a rather immature lot.

Never heard of something like this before. Even though your co-workers were lying through their teeth, that's how it works in the job world. Gotta brown nose your way around mistakes. The good thing is they probably won't give you a hard time again now that they got busted.
