I lose my balance if I turn my head the wrong way, so I don't drive, because if I did it would be like driving drunk. I avoid operating heavy machinery, too. And chainsaws. Makes it hard to get a job as a lumberjack. Which is sad. Because I always wanted to be a lumberjack.

....Seriously, I was a kinda a lumberjack at 14, I wouldn't go to school so I took my dad's old chainsaw & cut down some trees instead.

Loneliness is not about being alone; it's about not feeling connected.

I don't drive and the idea of doing it scares the hell out of me, it must me anxiety related, I'm afraid I would lose common sense when driving alone.

I like driving, especially in the summer with the windows down and music on. Not so much in the city though.

I was unable to drive for so long that I can't not appreciate being able to drive again (for now) but I can't say I enjoy it. I like what it does for me but I would absolutely not object to self driving cars. Like don't have to do anything, fully self-driving. I don't think it could really be much more dangerous than having human guided death machines.

... Spent 2 or 3 years doing that in spare time instead of doing what I should have been doing, mixing with friends studying etc, we burned it cause we have a wood burning stove to heat water & the house, it was in a bit of disused land my father owned, it's amazing to see how much it's all grown back after 20 years it feels like last year & my father's been gone 17, time is scary.

I helped cut down a tree a couple of years ago. I felt kind of bad about it afterwards (mostly because I decided to film that and posted it here and lol.) Also I really liked that tree because I used to climb it and do other stuff underneath when I was a child. It was kind of fun though.

Oh right this is a thread about driving yeah I don't do that.

...It's funny you should say that we've had trees that escaped cutting because they were favorite, sentimental trees me & siblings played in them in our youth etc, an ash tree, a sycamore & an oak I should post pictures of them in the picture thread sometime & yes sorry for derailing a driving thread : /

How tragic ! I am sorry for your loss. Yes! I am one of those weirdos that cares more for plants than animals (most of the time).

In my experience, whether or not you enjoy driving (anxiety aside) has a lot to do with location. If you live in a city where traffic is terrible and your commute is long you'd most likely hate the experience.

Personally driving is my therapy. Whenever I feel bummed out, trapped in my life and wanting to escape. I hope right into my car and go for a cruise.

I often find myself driving throughout the city or going to nearby cities late at night/early morning while listening to Synthwave music.

Sometimes it makes me chill :

And other times it reinforces my anger:

Still there are moments where it makes me excited about a time that never existed or that I will never get to live:

This **** is better than therapy and drugs combined!

I exist on the best terms I can
The past is now part of my future,
The present is well out of hand"

I don't hate it but after 31 years of doing it, I'm tired of it. Kinda starting to say **** it if it's not absolutely necessary.

@Eternal Solitude

Yeah I like plants a lot. You know how people have furry fantasies which are basically a amalgamation of animal or plushtoy and Humanoid well in the past I've had sexual fantasies that are the plant/humanoid equivalent of that, and other plant fantasies, and yeah I do blame Poison Ivy somewhat.

I love Humans are such easy prey. Synthwave is very driving music tbh.

I remember that and saw that video and enjoyed it. Even if I didn't understand the significance of it (and still am not sure I do).
