I will not let my social anxiety stop me!

Big news! I recently got a new job (first time I'm working since I was sexually harassed in the workplace nearly 5 months ago) and I got accepted into graduate school with full funding and a teaching assistantship. I've been dreaming of this for years of my life now, and it's finally really happening.

I have 5 months before grad school begins. This is my time. I will talk to a therapist my anxiety, and I will do whatever it takes to overcome it. I will be able to handle teaching come fall. This is it. I'm finally going to seek real help for my anxiety!!

Congratulations. Talking to a therapist and being determined to overcome anxiety is an accomplishment enough. And to achieve a dream of grad school (fully-funded!) with a teaching assistant position is fantastic. You should be proud.

With the attitude you're expressing, I'm confident you'll be able to handle the social anxiety that might come from teaching. I do stand-up and had to overcome SA, and refuse to let that hold me back as well, so I can relate. Anyways, best of luck, hope to hear updates as you progress.
