I fear Trump will get another term due to Democratic Disunity

As I listen to the ridiculous overblown controversy about Joe Biden I can't help but shake my fist in frustration....this is exactly how Trump won the last election.

LGBT against heterosexuals; latinos against blacks; blacks against whites and more recently....MeToo against ...every male candidate !!

Mark my words...by the time the in-fighting is done...Democrats will be left with the weakest candidate and Trump will walk all over him/her again.

We have a sitting president who has made jokes about grabbing women by the genitals...made various unapologetic sexist statement...and been caught on tape various times doing/saying sexist things...he has even said he could shoot someone on camera and people would still vote for him

Yet we keep hearing potential democrat candidates being debased for the silliest of allegations ...that pale in comparism to some of the things Trump does in one week.

Also....why is Trump the only politician who seems to be immune to this sort of scandal ???

Just last month I saw 2 other male democrats being forced to step down for some sort of sexual allegation.

I find it rather doubtful. I think the Democratic base will vote for absolutely anyone they put in front of them this time. Biden is a preposterously weak candidate but the level of hate for Trundle is so high it won't matter.

I also feel that voter turnout this time amoung younger generations will be much much higher than it was last election.

There were alot of votes lost to nonvoters but this outrage over the presidency has caused alot more attention to be put on voting again.

I am saying this as someone going to a liberally biased college mind you, but i imagine the majority of college students nowadays are far more liberal leaning than conservative.

I think too the "blue side" will take this thing a little more seriously this time. People didn't expect Trump to win and the only good thing about Hillary was that she's not Trump, so why even bother to vote? "OH **** TRUMP WON!" Never again...

Considering how weird and "flamboyant" Trump is, he hasn't really made any significant changes to show his supporters? Whether we like him or not, he seemed like a person who will make radical changes with his "I don't give a ****" attitude, not necessary good changes, but changes anyway. I've seen recently some of those "far groups" jumping off the Trump train too.

All that Democrats need is some negotiator kind of candidate, who doesn't idolize absolute socialism. You're done if they find some loud mouthed leftist equivalent of Trump.

I don't think Trump will get re-elected. I'll echo what Peter Schiff says about this - we'll be in a recession by the time November 2020 gets here, and since he was so quick to brand this bubble economy as his own, he's going to take the blame for it when it bursts. Combine that with the fact that he oversold himself in the 2016 campaign and hardly made good on some of his major promises, and he no longer has that outsider appeal, I don't think he'll get enough votes to eek out another close win.

The only way I see him winning is if the Fed can somehow keep the economy artificially propped up with low interest rates for another couple of years, and the Democratic candidates are absolutely terrible.

I think it's going to be a mess if Trump gets voted out in 2020. He said this week that he doesn't like the way votes were counted in the midterms last November. Trump is absolutely planting that seed for November 2020. If he loses, he will say it was rigged and from there who knows what happens

Joe Biden is absolutely not going to win the presidential election, Donald Trump is going to be a two term president. The democrats are too busy pandering to upper middle class people in their cities or the echo chambers of their cliques to realize there's several hundred million Americans they aren't representing or talking to.

Thanks a lot for making us elect Donald a second term because his idiocy is only slightly less detrimental.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

....I think there are too many Democrats overestimating Trumps lack of popularity. If anything I believe Trumps victory at the polls showed how hopelessly biased the media is.

The Mass Media are so biased that they sold the nation the bogus idea that Trump was unpopular, that nobody liked him...that there was no way he could win ...and yet that was precisely what happened !

There are entire youtube videos showing just how many media personalities were left speechless when Trump won.

I wish there was another conservative network besides Fox. I can think of 3 'left leaning' networks at the top of my head...CNN, ABC and NBC...if that was all I watched I would have been fooled too.

Of course you were certain....the left run media had the whole nation convinced that it would never happen...so the voters got careless ... the party got careless.

I mean just look at all the people here commenting saying it's impossible for Trump to get a second term...

Yep..all I'm thinking is..."That's what she said..right before he did it"

Trump is a buffoon and says stupid things, but Joe Biden is an actual legit creep. Anyone defending Biden and saying he is just 'very friendly' is in denial and trying to damage control. Trump is not even comparable to this.

those videos...wow. Just wow. Maybe they were doctored/edited to look more cringeworthy than what actually took place ??

Well, I can admit I may be wrong. There may really be something to the stories about joe Biden.
Yep. definitely looks like Trump will win after all.

I was very surprised at how the religious right in this country has supported him no matter what, and I wasn't expecting their numbers to be enough to swing certain states in 2016.

I do think that people expected Hillary to win by a large margin, even in Ohio. I know 4 people who voted for Jill Stein because they hated Hillary, and didn't want to not vote. And even then, we all knew that our county was going to vote Republican regardless of who it was, and a lot of them were anti-Hillary votes too. I do wonder how many anti-Hillary voters will either not vote in 2020, vote for Trump, or change to #NeverTrump voters when she isn't in the race.

The one aspect the media did cover, but didn't praise Trump for was his strategy of holding so many big rallies. Hillary wasn't out there as much, and the media always talked up her big dollar dinners with donors.

As for how the 2020 election will go, I don't know. There are 18 Democratic candidates and they are still losing in the amount of media coverage they are getting compared to the 1 Republican candidate. I hope that Biden doesn't get in the race. I would expect him to win, but there is a large number of people who won't vote for him. And there will be a lot of negative ads from the far left and the right. Whereas, I have a hard time listing any political reason a conservative wouldn't want Trump re-elected. Mayor Pete talks a good game, but I don't want to have to deal with the anti-gay whiners for 4 years. Bernie has the organization and money, but needs to gain the endorsements from the other candidates, and to also deal with the older Democrats who see him as an outsider.

The one guy who could have easily won and stood up to Trump was sadly the first one to drop out of the race.

I've got news for you. Mayor Pete made a mass of South Bend. High-end townhouses along a river that nobody could afford, or would want to....the area flooded in 2018. There are homeless groups living under railroad bridges downtown and it got worse every year. The school system is incorporated and had to be rescued by the State.

He turned two one-way streets into two-way streets and then put in so many roundabouts that it takes twice as long to travel into downtown as before. Only Notre Dame has thrived.....probably all the subsidies.

What should their approach/main policies be if they are looking to get electable again?

Firstly they need to stop antagonizing the conservative electorate. It's politics 101...you are never going to win over anybody from the otherside...if you are always criticizing them.

A conservative does not have to vote Republican....but in this metoo..hashtag snowflake era...its hard pressed for a conservative to vote the other way.

Think about it like this...why would anyone vote for someone else who calls him a racist-sexist-homophobic-islamaphobe on a daily basis ??

The thing about minority groups is...they are called minority for a reason ..like DUHHH !!!

If you constantly pander to the minority whilst simultaneously alienating the majority of the electorate...you are not going to win !

Obama understood this very well. Which is why he didn't just play to the "Im black and I am proud" idea...but instead made himself accessible to white voters.
