I just binge ate again

I just had to put it out there if I want to get better. I hadn't done it for about a week but I just broke down. It's pathetic. Just had to admit it

Don't sweat it (fellow binge eater). Your feeling like **** about it will just make it more likely you will binge again sooner. The worse you feel the more likely you will binge to make yourself feel better.

Just forget about it and keep trying

I binge eat so much, i disgust myself
but I think dude above is right, it's the importance we put on eating that makes us feel like it's this big deal, and then doing it becomes more desirable. when I was a teenager, I had the metabolism of a cheetah and I barely ate. as soon as I realized I couldn't freely eat anymore though, I started thinking about it all the time.

hang in there, don't feel bad about yourself <3

Its ok we all have slip ups, just try not to let it happen again. Congrats for sharing with us. You're making yourself accountable which is great.

Yeah, been there, do this....still do this.

You do it and even think.."I really shouldn't be eating this right now", but you do it anyway...and feel like pooh for it afterward.

You do it...you recognize it...and you move on.

yesterday I didn't eat a lot for the first time in a couple weeks because I ended up feeling nauseous the entire day and probably threw up more food than I took in

This is actually one of the major triggers for me. In terms of likelihood to binge:

watching tv a movie in living room > watching tv a movie on pc (sitting upright) > not watching tv or movie.

If I remove the tv and movie entirely from the equation I usually won't binge I guess its some kind of learned habit or something, but I find that with these things there are certain behaviours that tend to lead to binging, you can far easily cut out those behaviours (early in the chain of events) than win the willpower battle right at the end

There is a self-esteem thing there. I have had some correspondence with SplendidBob, so I know he's cool. For you, I don't know you, but you have brought this up, so that's cool, too.

We do things to "numb the pain", that's for sure. Sometimes, we just have to go through the withdrawal just to know we can do it. That can build self-esteem alone.

Find out what triggers the binge eating and then see if there is a better way to handle it.

Wow this thread got bigger than I expected. I'm still in high school and I don't eat breakfast due to rush. Then I get fed the morsels of food they call lunch. So I come home starving and just go to my fridge and lose my mind. It used to be a daily binge but I'm down to about twice a week. Really trying to lose weight because I'm technically obese (BMI of 33.4) not by much, but it's still enough to get me depressed and binge again. I haven't had soda in almost a month

You should be losing weight by exercising, not starving. The binging is going to confuse the body, too.

Yeah, high school food can be radioactive. I remember not eating breakfast either.

I've found that switching to a keto (high fat) diet helps me control my eating. I don't get those "OMG I HAVE TO STUFF FOOD IN MY FACE" feelings concerning carb rich foods. I also don't have episodes of insatiable hunger if I haven't eaten all day. It's not a diet for everyone, but it has really helped me feel that I'm in control of my eating for the first time in my entire life.
