Depression.... always waiting

I am always waiting for the day to be over as if I am waiting for something to happen that isn't going to happen. I always just want to go to bed and have the day be over. It's so sad to live this way, and I don't know how to fix it. During the day I feel like crying sometimes and am agitated and just wish the days felt shorter. I have no motivation for my schoolwork and just want to sleep. I wish I did not feel this way. I want to enjoy my life, but just feel so agitated and annoyed by everything. I would feel better if there was something to look forward to, like if I was counting down towards something as the days passed by, but I am just waiting for the days to end, just for them to be over.

Anyone feel similar?

If you think this is the end, then its not the end

Been there.
Am there now and again.

Find something to look forward to. If you can't - find out WHY you can't look forward to anything, and occupy yourself with that quest.

Keep yourself busy. It's hard work - i ain't gonna lie.

The only thing that's helped this for me is stimulants plus antidepressants. OP - I assume you've tried meds?

You never get out of depression. Once in a while an event, distraction, person, idea or thing swings by and takes you on short holiday away from your depression. But then that drunken feeling of euphoria fades away and you wake up in the same old world of ****.

How do you escape from this duality of happiness and sadness? That I want to know. In my experience, medication numbs some of the emotional pain, alright... BY MAKING YOU FEEL PHYSICALLY ILL THAT IS!

What gives?

I exist on the best terms I can
The past is now part of my future,
The present is well out of hand"

that doesn't sound like depression. if you are able to experience happiness, i'd conclude you aren't anhedonic - which is a prerequisite for depression. or are there different variants of depression?

I know how you feel. I suffer from clinical (major) depression and that's exactly how I feel everyday. The days seem so long and I keep counting down the hours. The least little thing can push me to point of dropping everything and quit. You are not alone okay?
You should make a note of the things you would probably enjoy doing. Do you have any friends with whom you can do those stuff with?

Hi Original Poster,
It sounds like me lately. I feel stuck.

I really like what version said. I might try that.
