I suspect my mother has it. At times, I feel like clobbering her over the head; particularly her temper tantrums. I'm surprised my father stayed with her, for so many years.

I don't have it and i don't understand it. I saw it in recent movie called silver lining playbook. Funny as hell. A little off topic here.

My mom thinks I have it. I do get moody a lot, but I'm nothing like most people with BPD. I think severe social anxiety pretty much negates BPD symptoms, if that makes any sense.

That makes a lot of sense although I still find myself relating to most of the symptoms.

my mom definitely has it..and through out my childhood, teen life and up till now, it had a great impact on me.

ironically my mom denies any of it but only making excuse of being overly caring..

I dunno. What's it like?

I have avoidant personality disorder though. Probably not as bad as BPD.

I haven't seen this movie, but did see the director and Jennifer Lawrence in an interview the other night and the movie is actually about Bipolar Disorder (mood disorder), not Borderline Personality Disorder. I guess the director's son has Bipolar.

I don't need anyone to approve of what I say or do...but it's always nice when someone does.

Yep, I have it. It's self-diagnosed, but I just know.

It's a living nightmare.

I fit all of the symptoms to a T actually. The most of the time in the detached protector (numbed state) is right too. I find the anger controllable though (after self tutoring). I feel it rising over basically nothing, but I can calm myself down. I find it really hard to deal with the other described states though.

I actually naturally change my personality to happy extroverted when I first meet someone. I act how I want to be. Its a subconscious thing. Its not exactly a lie, but its not exactly the truth either. It eventually goes downhill when anxiety kicks in. Perhaps one day I will be the person who I want to.

Do you welcome people who self-diagnose?

I was wondering the same thing. I fit most of the symptoms, and my dad has BPD too I believe. It's so frustrating. I literally just realized I have this problem today and it's depressing. Like I've spent so long just trying to be a normal person and now I know it's almost impossible for someone like me to live in normal society. *le sigh*

If you expect nothing, you will never be disappointed.

Ive known 2 people with this disorder it like 2.5 time as bad as bipolar i think. These people can snap on a hair trigger. It funny when you get bipolar and boarderline personalty hanging out today. I got avoidant personalty disorder hehe so when all 3 of us get together it weird.

I also thought it was about Bipolar Disorder and not BPD.

I've always suspected I had this. For people who were diagnosed or self diagnosed what are your symptoms?
