New layers of water ice have been found beneath Mars’ North Pole
“Understanding how much water was available globally versus in the poles is important if you’re going to have liquid water on Mars. You can have all the right conditions for life, but if most of the water is locked up at the poles, then it becomes difficult to have sufficient amounts of liquid water near the equator.”
According to Brian Cox, Mars at one point had a 4km waterfall, 4x the size of earth’s biggest..Quite cool to think about.
I still can’t envision people colonizing the planet. Just picture yourself living in a dome with 20 other people or something, sounds nightmarish to me. Also having to wear a suit around as there is no magnetic field present.. I can see how certain personalities and science-driven people could thrive on Mars, though.
