If there was any postive aspect of the virus

For me it is that it's ended my FOMO (fear of missing out). I used to often get this and feel like I should do this or that or visit people, or arrange to go do something. Or not be sure if I should go out or save the gas to drive there. Now we can't do anything, so there's not much to miss out on for me.

Also on the weekends I've been sleeping in since there's nothing to go get up early for. Other than things to do at home, but they can wait until later in the morning/afternoon.

Underneath the cold November sky, I wait for you... As the pages of my life roll by, I wait for you... I'm so desperate just to see your face, meet me in this broken place...

Be a little brave for a little bit of time.

It could kill me. That's the only one good thing about it...

Even shy people can be sassy sometimes...
I'll put drunk raccoon in my signature as well, because I CAN...

Not me. But for most people in general, I guess it's that they are spending more time with their families and doing things they have long kept putting off doing with them due to work or other persistent life commitments.

For me, I think I feel less bad now that I don't have evenings where I am the only one home while all of my housemates are out with plans. Although it does get rather annoying that now they are always here. But two of them are home quite often even in normal circumstances.

Well said. So much of this

My way of life has become more normalised lol so that's been interesting.

It's been a long time since I've really had FOMO though.

Kick down the door
Kick through the pain
You've been talking to the wall
Everybody is dead in this house

Kick down the door
Kick through the pain
You never wanted to be born
Everybody is dead in this house

Yeah. I think I would really have to feel like I was missing something I didn't want to miss. So mostly I'm skipping things I don't like and therefore, nothing is missing. Well, except money.

I'm comfortable and relaxed at home. And this is being encouraged by the government and society. That's pretty cool.

You're usually expected to be on the go, constantly busy, and living it up.

If there was a positive aspect to the virus in question, my in-laws would get it and BE GONE. but yeah, they'll never get it providing how mean spirited they are, it is stronger than the corona

The virus is like a social life equalizer. Now everyone has a social life more comparable to my nonexistent one.

I'm hoping habits will be changed during this time so that people will live less busy lives in the future. Things were getting out of hand before all this with the constant busyness and "look at me" culture.
If we can get rid of those two annoying things that will be a positive.
They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit, what day are we on now?

I think one of the big positives about this situation is that people have much more time to pursue hobbies (time is usually an excuse for not getting into new hobbies!). Lots of people are learning new skills, picking up new languages, self-teaching instruments, focusing on exercise, getting into reading etc. That's always nice to see, and I reckon quite a few of them will keep them up after this is all over!x

Gas has been the cheapest in many years.

Been spending less by not eating out as much and commuting as much.

Apparently crime rates have been down.

Have been seeing more wildlife in the streets that I normally do not see.

Birds have been chirping almost around the clock now.

I'm supposed to stay in my house & be a weirdo.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

The workaholic couple with young kids that live down the block. I always see them coming home late, even during weekend nights. I rarely see their kids outside. The past 2 weeks, seems like they've both been working from home. Every afternoon I've been seeing them playing together in the front yard and in the streets for hours. The dad playing catch with his son. The mom teaching the young daughter to ride a bike. The kids are so elated.

I'd also say the fear of missing out and saving a bit more money. But other than that, I dont think there's anything else. Maybe some good changes will come after this is all over.

As other people have said, good for the environment (less pollution). For me personally the extra time gained due to working from home has been very beneficial. More sleep, started to learn Japanese, some techie stuff. Not having to travel to and from work on public transport has been pretty great too.
