@sprinter @tehuti88 @zonebox @That Linux Guy @Kevin001 @millenniumman75@WillYouStopDave @copper

Kevin001 - I hope you have sanitizing spray for your phones. People can spread the Corona on casino chips. You can still take people down with a mask and gloves.

Copper - you only have two cases in your county! You can go to a store with the mask. You may not even need a mask.

YES! I am up only 7 cases in two days! 292 cases and still 15 deaths.

I don't even know if my beach is officially open...….I need to look it up.
We just had 3.5 to 5 inches of rain in the last two days....apparently my beach lake went up four feet.

Okay - in Ohio, apparently, I can go to the beach as long as I am in a group of less than 10 family, 50 (by May 29), and I socially distance - six feet away from a group. Anything that can harbor the Corona - buildings, playgrounds, water fountains, shower faucets, are closed.

Than I have to think about the "sand" - wet sand, dry sand, seagull poo sand, duck poo sand, Canadian geese poo sand.

@KILOBRAVO - I should come up with a song about sand and the Corona...I can call the track "Hy-po-chon-dri-a-sis"

Maybe people can stop the fanatical cleaning now.

Coronavirus 'does not spread easily' by touching surfaces or objects, CDC now says. But it still 'may be possible'.

I did go to the Dollar Store yesterday, but it is a small store easy to get in and out quick. Just needed to buy hygiene stuff. I have plenty of food stocked up in my house. I bought a bunch of bison, and other things from this small farm in Wisconsin. Only takes one day to get it delivered. I have always have stocked up. It is a habit due to living out in the country all my life. We would stock up so we didn't have to drive to town all of the time.

The mask I have only protects other people. You have to get a medical mask like a N95 mask that is properly fitted. My mom said when she was working as a nurse they had to be properly fitted and it had to be tested. How they test it is they blew some sweetener like Nutrasweet at the mask and if you can taste the sweetener it isn't properly fitted. People can be carriers of this but don't have any symptoms. Studies have showed that infection rates can drop 75% if people wore masks. This isn't all over with. A secondary wave will come and it will hit hard.

My dad said the Walmart was packed today. Stores and restaurants are able to open tomorrow and based on what I've seen, few people will bother adhering to social distancing and mask wearing, and few, if any, stores will bother enforcing it. And NO, we don't have any ****ing option to just shop online or get stuff delivered because we live in the country outside a crap town with so few services, our local hospital doesn't even have inpatient capabilities.

I'm getting really anxious again. This is happening too fast. And I've been waiting over two months to get my teeth pulled and I don't think they're going to keep my June appointment YET AGAIN and there's already a big chip out of one tooth and I really don't think they're going to last for another reschedule, I wish they'd just pulled them in March as planned, all I'd had was two more lousy days to go when they rescheduled. Now the virus is probably going to start spreading even faster and I'll have this hanging over my head for God knows how many months more because dental hygienist is the riskiest job right now. Our hospitals are suffering due to money loss from lack of elective procedures, which I doubt many patients consider "elective" in the first place. I keep checking around to see any sign of them being allowed again but there's no hint of any such thing happening soon. No, it's more important to open up to tourists than to open up basic medical services for the locals.

Why can't people just wear their ****ing masks, keep their distance, and visit only the places they really have to for just a little longer. And people down south (in the state) STAY down south a while longer, our area doesn't have the resources to handle swarms of infected tourists, we can barely even handle our own. Our stores STILL keep emptying out of necessities.

I just want these ****ing teeth pulled.

I was thinking about all the things that could happen in the sand. Various animal poos, bacteria, lack of social distancing.

I could turn it into a song, so I threw you in.

I don't know if YMCA would do it justice, though .

I just received a call about my appointment in two weeks. They moved their office almost twenty miles away back in February. I might go to this appointment and then decide if I should start going to a more local office.

So apparently now my state and others are including positive antibody tests along with new positive SARS CoV-2 cases. My state is calling positive antibody tests "probable" positive Covid 19 cases. That's fine I guess but the problem is someone with a positive antibody test could have recovered from Covid 19 a long time ago so to me who just likes to get an idea of how prevalent Covid 19 is in the community right now that just complicates that. I can't see anything on the Dept. of Health website that breaks down the positive virus vs antibody test results. This also might skew the numbers nationally since "new" cases might not be really new. Unless I'm missing something here? Are they now using antibody tests to diagnose someone with symptoms now?

Are they also adding it to the "Active cases" count? That seems really counter-intuitive and confusing.

I just went back on the Dept. of Hlth website to see if they had an active case count, I was pretty sure they didn't have a number for that, doesn't seem they do but now apparently they just added(after my post) a new breakdown of confirmed and probable cases.

https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/dis...ges/Cases.aspx

Confirm Cases Probable Case by Definition and High-Risk Exposure Probable Case by Serology Test and Either
Symptoms or High-Risk Exposure
64,551 1,126 481

Total cases is given as 66258

I guess that clears things up a little still I'm still confused as to how many are recent new cases. I just usually checked to see how the total case number had increased but that's not going to be accurate if it includes old cases just tested positive for antibodies. On the other hand it probably was never that accurate since one doesn't know about all the non tested cases out there.

We'll be moving into the Yellow phase here in Pennsylvania starting June 5th. A lot of the state will be moving into the green phase, but the southeast/Philly region got slammed so we're lagging behind.

I'm excited for this to be over. I'm hopeful the summer won't be completely ruined.

The NHLPA has approved a 24-team playoff format - subject to further negotiation of working conditions. Sounds like if it does go forward, they'll have a camp for a few weeks and begin in late July. Hockey in summer would be sweet... it's a risk though. What if the tourney proceeds, and someone contracts covid like in the final round? Put a pause on things and clear out again like they did in March? There would be an uproar either way.

The hockey fanatic in me is thrilled, but the pragmatic side of me is skeptical this can feasibly go through. It's a bigger mess waiting to happen.

Looks like South America is starting to heat up, especially in Brazil and Ecuador. Coronavirus hit the 1st world the hardest first (more travel to the 1st world), now it's coming for the 3rd world. Only saving grace for the 3rd world is that the median age is low.

Median ages (half the population is younger, half is older):

Japan 47
Italy 45
USA 38
Brazil 32
India 28
Egypt 24
Nigeria 18

Interstate crowded with people traveling to northern Michigan...

Why couldn't they just stay home this year, just this year, miss one piddling vacation? We've NEVER gone on vacation and we do just fine. We don't even live on a lakefront or have a boat, it's never been a hardship.

Big Boy opened for takeout and limited dine-in. (I'd been worried they might not reopen since they didn't offer these options at first, the last time I went downtown (early April) their sign just said, "Closed, see you soon!" Plus, when I recently Googled them, Google itself listed them as "Permanently closed.") Got their bacon & mac...nice to eat restaurant food again for a change. I asked my mother if they were wearing masks and she said yes. There were a lot of cars but she said they all seemed to be there for takeout and there was only one person in the restaurant itself.

It's going to be a long time before I feel anywhere near safe enough dining in anywhere.
