Pregabalin for severe social and GAD?

Please give me your experiences with it. I have severe anxiety, I cannot live my life at all or barerly go outside. Therapy isn't working and I've tried so many ssri's and snri's. I currently have a prescription for xanax which works wonders but my doctors is trying to decrease the dose all the time...

In studies it has been shown to be effective for both conditions but at 450 mg and above not less

It has some value, unlike SSRI's. It is like a (really) ****ty benzo, but it's still in that kind of area.

The problem with it, you need to constantly raise the dose to notice anything. It also totally destroyed my memory when I was on 300x2. I currently take 75x2. Isn't doing much at this dose, but until I can get back to the psych, wont be able to raise it.. my GP's are terrified of it.

Worth a shot.

Enough about me, lets talk about you, what do you think about me?

I am sorry your are feeling this way. I have been in the same position... Just remember nothing is for ever, things can get better... I have used it for nerve pain 2x 75 mg a day. I do remember it having some anti anxiety effects but I felt quite cognitive impaired while on it. It is worth a shot indeed, it might give you some relief and enable you to have new positive experiences. I noticed that I need to just be around people, even if I feel like crap. I might get a lot of anxiety, but then the next day will be better...

My Mood: Angry

added to my updated cocktail 2012

seemed the end of migraine throughout all youth

main trio of Keppra, phenytoin

intrigued what'd happen if i cease all?

vague others' belief if these made me different? all 100% transparent to me. zero effect practical. same person since birth. side effects listed.. nothing apparent.

all anti-depression.. i ignore. never wanted that ~~component~~

most appreciated: GP monitors my phenytoin by blood test (fasting) so dose decreased slightly from 400mg to 300 for nocturnal effect

Yeah, pregabalin was ok. Not as effective as benzos, but some help. It made me stupid, though. My memory was shot and I just felt very mentally slow on it.

I still take it as needed for sleep at times, but not very often. I've ended up on Nardil, which has been very good at eliminating my SA.

Pregabalin is kind of addictive and and the withdrawals are hell, similar to benzo withdrawals.
I have unlimited supply to it, because is otc in my country

Saying that, it's very effective for social anxiety, worth a try.
But you have to take tolerance breaks to keep it effective, it's not that difficult. Pregabalin tolerance drops very fast, like 2 days.

I have been taking 150x2 mg Pregabalin for a little over a week now and it does help with my anxiety but not completely. I have to add 20 mg Prazepam (long half life benzo) to it if I'm feeling anxious or if I know I'll be in a challenging environment.

South America, though in some pharmacies they ask you for what condition you want it, so it can get awkward.
So i prefer to buy it on MercadoLibre (similar to amazon), i don't know it it is legal, or they just don't give a ****.

Pregabalin/lyrica just makes you feel high and zoomed out. It could help with calming you down but it's not that good tbh, for me, atleast.

Benzos undeniably better. Preg is like the main effect is making you cloudy in the brain, with an anti-anxiety side effect. Pretty sure it's as addictive as benzos. Definitely sure its more abusable (mix with opiods ftw, or sometimes I mix with alcohol to get off my nut (don't do this anyone you could probably die).

the lightheadedness and feeling like you are in a weird cloud fades with time, in my experience. Which is a shame, because that's what I like about it. It also scares me in that it means am probably now dependent.

I found withdrawal easier than SSRI, but then I found SSRI withdrawal to be basically the worst thing I have ever experienced, so that doesn't say too much.

Enough about me, lets talk about you, what do you think about me?

Lyrica does calm me down a little bit but that's pretty much it. I am allowed benzodiazepines in association to it.
